The IUCN National Committee for the United Kingdom (IUCN NCUK) endeavours to undertake projects as part of its programme of work and to further the aims of the IUCN, both in the UK and Europe. Currently the focus is on promoting the activities IUCN NCUK Peatland Programme and working with Members of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) in the IUCN NCUK “Putting Nature on the Map” project, applying IUCN Protected Area Management Categories to UK sites. These projects are making good progress and will feature in workshops at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Jeju, South Korea in 2012.

Working groups of experts are established by the NCUK Executive Committee (ExCo) to fulfil or promote the scope of the project and support its activity. ExCo is currently undergoing a gaps analysis to determine areas of opportunity for future projects and engagement with additional communities of experts.

Under each of the projects listed on this page you will find documents relating to the proposal or specification, notes from meetings and any reports subsequently produced. These are provided in pdf format to allow for ease of downloading. All reports remain copyright to the IUCN UK National Committee unless stated otherwise.
